The Materials Manager and staff manage and oversee supply chain operations in a healthcare facility, including purchasing and inventory of materials as well as selection of and negotiations with specified vendors. They direct and oversee policies, objectives and initiatives as they pertain to material flow to meet production schedules. The Materials Manager not only looks for the best price, they look for the best product at the best price for the user department as well as the patient.
