Management is defined as the wise use of resources to accomplish desired results. The resources we have at our disposal are financial, physical, human resources, and time.
HTHU's School of Management and Leadership is dedicated to providing a sound foundation of management skills that focuses on the resource of people and time and how to use them wisely to accomplish our students' goals.
The course work has been developed around the Essential Skills Matrix, developed by Phil Bowers of Professional Skills Development. These 10 Essential Skills are the tools that build a foundation of success for managers at all levels. Too often, managers are trained in only one or two management "skills" or techniques without an understanding of how all his/her skills are related to each other. Each issue faced by management takes a combination of tools to provide not just an answer, but a better solution to a problem.
By learning the fundamentals of how the skills are interconnected AND developing a personal application plan to put the skills to work, our students come away better equipped to wisely put the resources of people and time to work for them and their entire organization.
The HTHU School of Management and Leadership focuses on results based training, training that can make your managers more professional, more powerful and even more promote-able.
The primary course, The 10 Essential Management Skills, is led by Phil Bowers, Founder of Professional Skills Development over a 12 week period, involving relevant presentations and having the student relate specific experiences to the materials and evaluate plans for improvement.
