HTHU's School of Patient Financial Services (PFS) is dedicated to training business office managers and staff in all aspects of the revenue cycle. In this rapidly changing healthcare environment, each role in the Business Office is in a constant learning mode. In the School of Patient Financial Services, students are offered a wide menu of curriculum choices, and all are a critical component of generating revenue for the hospital.
The PFS courses are available individually and grouped for certifications. The standard course is 1 hour, divided into four (4) fifteen (15) minute lessons to allow students to fit this vital training into their busy schedules. Certifications have been designed for each position in the business office including Patient Access Representative, Patient Access Specialist, Billing, Billing Specialist, Financial Counselor and Business Office Management. While the individual courses are self-paced, HTHU certifications are instructor-led and are completed during a six week period.
In our focus to be customer-centered and results based, we offer an assortment of courses from delivering Quality Customer Service to Managing the Charge Description Master. The hospital business office professional can increase their knowledge and establish themselves as a more valuable employee by engaging in the certifications and courses that are available to them on HTHU.
