Course Description

No matter what business you are in or what strategy you pursue, you need people to help carry out your plans. But when employees fall short of your expectations by underperforming or violating policies, could it be that we have not communicated properly just what was expected?

Effective communication is very often taken for granted today. We have more ways than ever to communicate, and yet we still discover performance gaps due to mis-communication.

What you will learn in this course, is three common communication traps, or pitfalls that managers commonly fall into when evaluating "what went wrong" or how an important project fell short of expectations. Participants will learn how communication affects all of the other necessary management skills, barriers to effective communication and how to overcome them, and how technology may not be the answer.

This course is suitable for management at all levels but recommended particularly for mid-level and front line supervision.
