This 4 part course was prepared by Sandy Sage R.N., Revenue Integrity Analyst at Fairview Park Hospital, to help you understand the Medicare and Medicaid guidelines regarding the 3 Day Window Rule, also known as the 72 Hour Rule. The Medicare and Medicaid guidelines are different. The first 3 lessons focus on diagnostic and non-diagnostic charges, inpatient and outpatient status of a patient and the associated Medicare Rules. Lesson 4 deals with the guidelines for the Medicaid 3 Day Window Rule.
